UTMB Health Careers is Hiring a Director, Audiology Near Galveston, TX

Job Description:To provide administration, leadership, and management of the Audiology clinical service. Provides direction in the day-to-day clinical operations, participates in direct clinical care, and provides supervision to the Audiologist and Audiology Assistants in the delivery of quality clinical services.

Hospital: Infant Hearing Screening

Job Functions:

  • Provides strategic oversight and administrative leadership including fiscal and clinical administration, long range business planning, and compliance with federal, state, and third party legislation and regulation for the Audiology Center
  • Directs, forecasts, and oversees recruitment, retention, staff engagement, and professional development of staff and residents
  • Develops and implements overall policies and procedures, internal control mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and legislation
  • Develops, directs, and participates in the clinical and educational programming for Audiology residents, adhering to academic accreditation and licensing requirements
  • Participate in clinical education for medical residents, physician assistants, medical students, graduate students, and other health professionals
  • Function as a leader for day-to-day clinical and administrative operations with direct accountability to the Department Chairman
  • Identify, develop, and implement long range goals for Audiology that will grow services in the market
  • Provides direct clinical supervision of the Audiologists engaged in patient care services to ensure standards of practice are met
  • Manages daily productivity standards and monitors clinician and section productivity in relation to targeted efficiency
  • Develops, maintains, and interprets departmental policies and procedures
  • Establishes, implements, and reviews section objectives, in conjunction with the Center and institutional priorities and goals
  • Provides specialized patient care in the area of Audiology, employing techniques consistent with age specific concerns for the following age groups: neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric as defined in the position addendum
  • Acts as liaison with other departments, physicians, and other specialists, and outside agencies
  • Supports the Department Chairman in implementing clinical research programs and clinical research activities that improve and advance clinical care
  • Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure
  • Performs related duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctoral degree in Audiology or related field and five years of progressive responsible clinical experience in advanced diagnostic and rehabilitative services.
  • Minimum of five year of Supervisory and Management experience.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech- Language and Hearing Association, and/or American Board of Audiology Certification.
  • License eligible for Audiology License from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing and supervising the Audiology services in an academic setting is preferred
  • Experience leader as expert in advance Audiology clinical treatments as part of a collaborative member of a multi-disciplinary otolaryngology treatment team is preferred
